Mineral Make-Up / Cosmetics
Traditional cosmetics, which are generally mineral oil or water based, often contain preservatives and emulsifiers which can prevent the skin from being able to breathe naturally and effectively suffocate it by clogging pores. This can aggravate the skin leading to enlarged pores, spot or acne breakouts, discolouration, especially in the sensitive eye area and wrinkles.
Many cosmetics also do not contain a sunscreen ingredient, meaning that many women must either put on a suncreen product under their make-up every morning and risk further clogging their pores, or simply go unprotected; which can also often be because they don't realise that sun protection is not built into the make-up that they have chosen.
In recent years there has been a rise in the availability of specialist make-up products derived from natural minerals which when applied to the skin do not create a barrier but allow the skin to breathe, whilst providing the results and natural look that you expect from your cosmetics.
